WHAT IS SUCCESS?

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success.” -AnonIn the spring of 1871, a young man picked up a book and read twenty- one words that had a profound effect on his future. A medical student at the Montreal General Hospital, he was worried about passing the examinations, worried about what to do, how to make a living, how to be successful. The twenty- one words that this young man read in 1871 changed his life and helped him to become the most famous physician of his generation. His name was Sir William Osler. Here are those twenty- one words which made him such a successful person. “Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance but to do what lies clearly at hand.”“Science,” said the French philosopher Valery “is a collection of successful recipes” that is what I have written above: a recipe to success.I can look back at my own life and see where I was distressed and then how praised which I received changed my entire future. Can’t you say the same thing about your life? History is replete with striking illustrations of the sheer witchery of praise.‘In the early nineteenth century a young man aspired to be a writer but everything was against him. He had never attended school more than four years. His father was in jail and this young man had very little confidence in his ability to write. He had a job of pasting labels of blacking. He lived in a wretched attic room with two other guys. He sent his first manu script in dead of night so nobody would laugh at him. Story after story was refused. Finally, the great day came when an editor praised and agreed to publish his story. He was so thrilled that he wandered aimlessly around the street wailing. That recognition and praise honored him as one of the most well- known writers. You may have heard of that boy. His name was Charles Dickens’. (Carnegie 1934, 228) Not only Charles Dickens, Enrico Caruso- the great opera singer, H.G. Wells and many other numerous eminent personalities fought against there all obstacles with the support of praise to reach their destiny. “Success is nothing, just winning over failure.” This is somehow right my friends. Success is not only being at the top but, success is when you learn from your mistakes and then triumph over them. Your previous failures become a point of your success. “Don’t be discouraged by a failure. It can be a positive experience. Failure is, in a sense, the highway to success, inasmuch as every discovery of what is false leads us to seek earnestly after what is true, and every fresh experience points out some form of error which we shall afterwards carefully avoid.” John Keats avowed succinctly."A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him." - David Brink Friends, when someone criticizes you, don’t get disappointed and start being like a child but, boost up your confidence and again try your task and never stop till you accomplish it. Hope you enjoyed reading these famous quotes for being successful in life.SO, SUCCESS NOW LIES CLEARLY IN YOUR OWN HANDS !!
